A brass plate for a cartidge box donated to St. Bonaventure University from Robert Worden. The plate has a width of 3.5 inches and a length of 2.25 inches.
On the front are the raised letters, SNY, meaning State of New York. There is also a burn mark on the top right, reaching onto the Y.
Imprinted on the back are the letter "J. I. Pittman", who was a well known military eqipment maker, established in NYC c. 1845.
There are also several holes, believed to be air pockets from production, and many scratches.
The letters "HA", "HO", and "TB" hand etched into the back.
