-In the early 1950's, the well-known and successful St. Bonaventure football team gave way to what would become a permanent facet in the life of Saint Bonaventure University and the community at large.  This is basketball.  In this web site we explore the history of the basketball program, including biographies of coaches and major players whose numbers have been retired and recent successes in a Bonaventure uniform.

In case you're wondering, the top single game scoring records are:
51--Bob Lanier, 1969, vs. Seton Hall
50--Bob Lanier, 1969, vs. Purdue
48--Tom Stith, 1959, vs. Manhattan
47--
Marcus Posley, 2016, vs. Saint Joseph's

Created by  Joshua Gilevski for History 419: Computer and Archival Skills for Historians, Fall 2003, taught by Dr. Phillip Payne and SBU Archivist Dennis Frank at St. Bonaventure University.

The site was updated to include more recent material by Michael Licata, archival assistant and intern, in the Spring & Fall 2008 semesters.

Any changes, other than minor editing, are noted on the affected pages.
